I know, I know, I said my resolutions weren’t health based! They’re still not, I promise, however the lovely people over at Slendertox have let me trial their 14-day teatox to share with you. I’ve been interested to find out what a teatox is all about for a while, and the tea is claimed to reduce bloating (always good) increase your metabolism (hooray) and cleanse your system (erm…) so this seems as good a time as any to get rid of the Christmas binge!
After reading up on tea detoxes, not going to lie, I was slightly wary of trying this product due to the “cleansing your system” bit, to put it nicely (ooer!) so although I received the product a while ago, this is the first chance I’ve had to start the cleanse as the pack recommends you start on your day off. I don’t advocate quick-fix dieting solutions, which is essentially what a teatox is, however I’m interested to see what the health benefits of the teatox are.
As I’m not going to be using the teatox for weight loss, I won’t be sticking strictly to the meal plan, as it recommends cutting out meat, dairy and carbs – a very restricted diet which is something I’m wary of. However, some of the ideas included on it have given me more varied ideas for my diet, something I do struggle with being a veggie (Quorn-filled freezer: check!), so it will be a good opportunity to try some of these new meals. I will have to adapt some of the suggestions to be veggie friendly, but this is never usually too difficult. The breakfast and lunch plans have some great ones, especially if you have to take lunch with you to work, and I’m sure I’ll be sharing some of the ones I try and the verdict over on my Instagram feed.
So this morning I tried my first cup of the Daytox tea, and I have to say the tea is genuinely nice! If you don’t drink tea, or haven’t had black, green or herbal teas it may be very different to what you’re used to – I’m trying to rack my brain for what the flavour reminds me of but I’m coming up blank! I’m usually a coffee drinker but have tried a lot of teas so this was quite pleasant and refreshing, though I brewed the tea for just under the recommended time as I’m not keen on really strong herbal tea (give me an Americano any day!) The tea comes in these cute little pyramid bags, not unlike Teapigs, which makes them seem just like regular tea.
As I’ve only just started the teatox, I can’t comment fully on the effects of the Sleeptox just yet, however I will be updating this post once I’ve tried it. So far, so good though – the tea tastes good and as of yet no negative effects! If you’re interested in doing Slendertox’s teatox, or want to find out more, you can find out more on the links below.
I’ll keep you updated on my progress!
